The Vidal Perspective is the home of Alfonso R. Vidal, a Venezuelan American author and speaker based in Evansville, Indiana. Raised in Caracas, he survived an eleven day kidnapping by Colombian guerrillas before immigrating legally to the United States, where he built a manufacturing company, lost it to COVID, and began again. He is the author of the memoir A Long Way from Caracas: Kidnapping, Exile, and the Adventures of Trusting God. His essays have appeared in USA Today, the Indianapolis Business Journal, and the Evansville Courier and Press, and he has been featured on WNIN Public Media and WNIN PBS. As a conservative Latino keynote speaker, he addresses resilience, faith, freedom, immigration, and entrepreneurship in English and Spanish.
